| Tyrannosaurus Rex Tooth On Show In Ludlow A rare fossilised Tyrannosaurus Rex tooth is to be displayed at an Antiques Fair at Ludlow College on Saturday 28 January before it goes on sale in London.
Local amateur palaeontologist, Pauline Atkinson of Fossil Earth said "anyone who likes fossils and dinosaurs must come and see this tooth, T Rex is the dinosaur that commands fear and respect, sometimes, even in museums you only see replicas but this is the real thing".
As well as the T Rex tooth Pauline will be taking a wide range of fossils including other dinosaur teeth to the Antiques Fair. "I was so excited when I received the T Rex tooth," says Pauline, "I have watched the film Jurassic Park and the scene where the T Rex first appears with the water vibrating in the glass is terrifying. This T Rex tooth is from Dakota, USA, which is where the biggest and most complete T Rex Skeleton was found. Nicknamed Sue after the palaeontologist who found it, Sue measures 12.8 meters long and 4 meters tall at the hips. T Rex Sue was sold to a Chicago Museum, in 1997 for 7.6 million dollars".
The T Rex tooth will be heading to Grays Antiques Centre in London after the Ludlow Fair where Pauline also has a selection of fossils. More information can be found at www.fossilearth.co.uk.
